Yes, Southbourne School of English is accredited by the British Council. We are also members of Quality English, English UK, and RALSA.

How long can I study for?

At Southbourne School of English you can study for as long as you like, starting from one week.

What is the minimum age for students?

In summer we accept students from the age of 12 at our main school. Our residential centres take students from 10 – 16. Junior students are kept separate from adult students for both lessons and activities. Outside of summer, we do not accept individual junior students.

Do I need a visa?

If you come from a country outside of the European Union then you may need a visa. More information can be found on our visa page here.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, we ask for a deposit of £280.00 per student to confirm the course and accommodation. We cannot send out confirmation of booking, or visa application documents, before we have received a deposit.

What facilities does Southbourne School of English offer?

We have a range of facilities on offer to students including:

  • 17 interactive classrooms
  • the language laboratory
  • the library
  • the cinema room
  • the internet cafe
  • free internet access / free WiFi access
  • the cafeteria, offering hot and cold food, drinks, and snacks

Can the school arrange my accommodation?

The school is able to offer host family accommodation with local English host families. All of our families are within walking distance of the school. Unfortunately, we are unable to arrange private accommodation. However, if you wish to rent a flat privately, we would suggest that you visit the Bournecoast website.
