Guide to Levels
Yes, Southbourne School of English is accredited by the British Council. We are also members of Quality English, IALC, English UK, English UK South and English UK Young Learners. We are also an examination centre for Cambridge and Trinity.
At Southbourne School of English, you can study for as long as you like, starting from one week.
In summer, we accept students from the age of 10 at our main school (students aged 9 can be accepted in classes without accommodation). Our residential centre accepts students from age 9 – 16. Junior students are kept separate from adult students for both lessons and activities. Outside of summer, we do not accept individual junior students, except on our spring programme. However, we do accept closed group juniors throughout the year.
No, we ask for the £100 registration fee to enrol the student and we ask for payment for the course in full 4 weeks prior to the course start date. We cannot send out confirmation of booking, or visa application documents, before we have received a registration fee payment.
The school is able to offer local homestay accommodation. All of our homestay accommodation is within walking distance of the school (Max. 35 minutes in summer). Students under the age of 16 staying in homestay accommodation for longer than 26 nights will need to be placed with a Private Foster family.
We can also arrange residential accommodation for students age 9-16 during our Junior Residential Course.
If you wish to rent a flat privately, we would suggest that you visit the Bournecoast website.
