Here we have answered Frequently Asked Questions about our language courses, facilities in Bournemouth and accommodation and welfare. If your question is not answered here, then please get in contact and we will be happy to answer any queries you may have.

Yes, Southbourne School of English is accredited by the British Council. We are also members of Quality English, IALC, English UK, English UK South and English UK Young Learners. We are also an examination centre for Cambridge and Trinity.

To book your course, have a look at our Adult or Junior courses you can complete the Junior (Age 9-16) or Adult (Age 16+) enrolment forms.

You can pay for your course by cheque, Flywire or by direct bank transfer. Contact us for more details.

Courses start every Monday throughout the year. Junior courses are seasonal, please check Junior Language Courses for more information

At Southbourne School of English, you can study for as long as you like, starting from one week.

In summer, we accept students from the age of 10 at our main school (students aged 9 can be accepted in classes without accommodation). Outside of summer, we do not accept individual junior students, except on our spring programme. However, we do accept closed group juniors throughout the year.

If you come from a country outside of the European Union then you may need a visa. More information can be found on our school policies page here.

No, we ask for the £100 registration fee to enrol the student and we ask for payment for the course in full 4 weeks prior to the course start date. We cannot send out confirmation of booking, or visa application documents, before we have received a registration fee payment.

The school is able to offer local homestay accommodation. All of our homestay accommodation is within walking distance of the school (Max. 35 minutes in summer). Students under the age of 16 staying in homestay accommodation for longer than 26 nights will need to be placed with a Private Foster family.
