Summer activities

Available across the summer season (27 June–22 August 2027) and included in Summer General English + courses: local trips, sports, Saturday full-day excursions.

Private foster family homestay. Under UK law protecting children under 16, students aged 10–15 staying 27+ nights must be placed with a family registered as a private foster family with social services. More: dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/w/private-fostering

Homestay accommodation

  • Light laundry once a week
  • Within walking distance or a short bus ride from school

  • All hosts of under-18s are police checked (DBS) and chosen for their caring attitude
  • Students may share a room with another of similar age, same gender and possibly nationality during busy periods
Lunch for students aged 15 and under. Full board includes a freshly prepared packed lunch from school Monday to Friday. Under-16s must have lunch at school every weekday, so a student with privately arranged accommodation — who is not on full board — is charged £8 per weekday for that lunch, £40 for a full week. This applies to the lessons-only Summer General English course and to any junior booking without homestay.
Under-12 surcharge. Covers the additional staffing UK law requires for individual younger students.

Special diets

We can cater for special dietary requirements — including gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan — in homestay accommodation and in the packed lunches prepared at school.

  • Special diet supplement: £49 per week
  • All dietary needs and allergies must be declared at the time of booking so we can place the student with a suitable host family
  • We do not cater for halal diets. Whether halal food can be provided is at the discretion of each individual host
Special educational needs & mental health. At booking we must be told about any SEN or mental-health needs (including ADHD, dyslexia and Asperger's). Please share as much as possible so we can assess whether we can accept the student. If undisclosed needs mean we cannot teach or integrate a student successfully, the course will be cancelled; the student returns home at their own expense and remaining course fees are refunded.
