Homestay

We make sure that all our students have a happy, safe homestay to return to after school.

We carefully select all of our hosts and we have been working with some for many years.  A typical homestay provides a family feel, and could be one or more adults with or without children. We have a large selection of homestays to choose from and any that host under 18 year olds are guaranteed to be police checked.

Our Accommodation Officer visits the homes to ensure they are of a good living standard. When our hosts first apply to accommodate our students, we ask them for two references, a gas safety certificate, a fire escape plan, and a fully completed homestay risk assessment form before we accept them and start offering them students. We believe that choosing the right host for our students is just as important as the quality of our English tuition, as they need to feel comfortable, happy and safe to get the most out of their study abroad experience.

Our homestays are within walking distance or a short bus journey from the school and adults aged 18+ are guaranteed single rooms all year round.

Interested in hosting international students?

When living with a host, student’s will enjoy home comforts and learn a lot about the English way of life.

Using every opportunity to practice their English is important to learn faster. We will always try to accommodate student’s in a twin bedded room with a student of the same sex and similar age, however they may be from the same country during our peak periods.

“My host family is really good. They are polite, communicative and help me in all situations if I need it. The food is very tasty and my room is very tidy so I’m happy.” – Victoria

During our quieter periods, students can have a room to themselves, unless they ask to share. As it’s busier in the summer, students under 18 years old share a twin-bedded room to help with demand.

What we need to know from our students

The more we know about a student’s needs, the more we can do to help. Whether they are special accommodation requests, allergies or dietary requirements, let us know before arriving. We want to match our student’s with the homestay best suited to them!

Many hosts in England have pets. Therefore, if a student’s does not want to stay with a host that has animals please tell us and we will do our best to help!
