Whatever your ability, from beginner to advanced, we have a variety of adult English courses for you at Southbourne School of English. You can choose from a wide range of adult English courses, each offering something different. The important thing for you is to find the course that will support you in achieving your aims.
General English Course (15 hours of tuition per week) – by following a General Adult English Course, students will increase their accuracy in grammar and will increase their competence and confidence in the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Intensive English Course (21 hours of tuition per week) – Students following the Intensive Adult English Course follow the same programme as those in the General Adult English Course, with the addition of a 6-hour negotiated syllabus course. The aim here is to fill in gaps in the students’ knowledge and expertise and to address particular needs the students feel.

General and Intensive English Course PLUS – The General and Intensive English Course PLUS suits students with limited time to improve their English for work and study, with added one-to-one’s. This course is perfect for business people and mature students.
The course content is the standard General and Intensive English courses Monday to Friday. In addition, you will receive six hours of one-to-one tuition tailored to your specific language needs.
Cambridge English Examination Courses– We offer two Cambridge English Examination Courses on set dates throughout the year, for students at different English levels. Preparation time for the examinations take 4 weeks. These lengths differ depending on the exam you choose. We run courses for B2 First (Formerly FCE) and C1 Advanced (Formerly CAE).
